The South Australian Council for Adult Literacy Inc (SACAL) is a voluntary, non-profit organisation that assists in the development and promotion of language, literacy and numeracy practices, services and resources.
SACAL acts as an advocacy agency lobbying government and organising annual conferences. SACAL has full representation on the Australian Council for Adult Literacy.
SACAL brings together all those interested in adult literacy, such as:

- universities.
SACAL abides by the Adult Literacy Provision Code of Practice. For our members, we provide networks and links to related literacy and numeracy groups, offer professional development and support, and help to promote research. SACAL publishes the quarterly newsletter ‘Literacy Matters’.
